Dave Lippert, and his wife Mona, are both avid trout fishermen (fisher-persons?). Anyway, Mona took a couple of pictures of Dave, and his trophy, then he released it back into the stream. That's when the thought struck him...he would have liked to have had this one on the wall in the den.
Dave gave me copies of the pictures to work from and the result is on the right.
While I can't substantiate it....there is a rumor....Mona caught the fish and Dave just held it for the pix. Keep in mind the keyword is rumor!
To have the most accurate carving created to duplicate your Catch and Release fish I should have at least a picture (preferibly several) to work from. A side view and top view is very helpful. Better yet, with a ruler of some kind. Even a dollar bill gives a reference!
Also the approximate weight, length, and girth (the mesurement around the biggest section on the fish). You will find places to record all the information on the order form.
However if your are looking for a more generic carving I can work from a discription.
The following pictures show the process used for
Dave Lippert's Trophy Rainbow Trout.
Dave received his finished carving at the Adams County (PA) Outdoor Expo.
My thanks to Dave Lippert for allowing me to use his fish as the process example on this website.
Home Fish and Wildlife Catch and Release Aviation and Maritime
Catch and Release is becoming more popular every year. It shows good stewardship of our natural resources. Plus the thrill of todays catch lives on for a future thrill.
Q:
How can I keep my trophy if I release it back into the wild?
A:
Have a carved and painted replica.
The alternative to taxidermy!
A 50% deposit is required to start the project.
You will receive updates on your project from time to time.
The remaining 50% balance must be received prior to shipping.
If you wish a CD with pictures of the process of making your trophy can be included with the finished carving.
Just like taxidermy, a project can't be completed overnight and orders are filled first come first served.
Still have questions? Please contact me! I look forward to hearing from you.
