Living in Central Pennsylvania, I'm surrounded by some of the best freshwater fishing in the northeast. Trout streams like the world famous Yellow Breeches; the Letort with it's native Brook Trout; the Susquehanna and Juniata Rivers teaming with Smallmouth Bass, Catfish, and other warm and cold water species. Not to mention the area's lakes with Bass, Perch, Sunfish, Walleye, Pike and Muskie. So I guess it only stands to reason my joy of fishing and the great outdoors has carried over to my passion for wood carving and wood sculpture.

Some of my other interest that are also refelcted in my work are my over forty year career in aviation and my love for just about any kind of vessle afloat. Plus I never tire of visiting lighthouses.

For the past fifteen years I have been active in my small woodcarving and woodworking shop. I have produced over a half dozen Trout carvings for the Adams County Chapter of Trout Unlimited which were sold at their annual fund rasing auction and banquette.
Being just a dozen miles from the Gettysburg Battlefield I have produced Civil War era items to include candle lanterns, replica ammunition boxes and bread boxes for Civil War reinactors.
I even had the opportunity to design and build a new galley for a 38 ft. yacht on Chesepeake Bay.
But the real passion is in taking a picture of someones catch-of-the-day and turning it into a lasting and realistic trophy to display in their home or office.

My late father taught me any job worth doing is worth doing well. He was an artist in his chosen fields as a carpenter and masonry contractor.
It seems to me there is life in every piece of wood and the thrill is to see that life manifest itself as a finished work of art. My goal is to provide my clients, with not just a product, but a lasting work of art.
My philosophy can be summed up in the quote:
The person who works with their hands is a laborer.
The person who works with their hands and their head is a craftsman.
The person who works with their hands, their head and their heart is an artist.
